Weeks 15 and 16

These last 2 weeks have literally flown by! I meant to post this late last week, but we left for Jersey for a good friends wedding on Thrusday and it completely slipped my mind. Now here I am 2 days shy of 17 weeks. This pregnancy is really moving along. I am feeling really good. I am still really tired and am still having really bad headaches a couple of times a week, but I am able to eat. Still not everything I would eat before I got pregnant, but I am eating at least. This post is a 2 for 1. Catching up to this week and I will start taking pictures of my ever expanding belly this week too.

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 15 and 16 weeks
Size of baby: According to the Bump, the size of a naval orange and an avacado!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I am really not sure since my scale is still dead, but I imagine I am up at least a few pounds with all the stuff I have been eating.
Maternity Clothes: Just pants for now. I definitely look pregnant. I am actually looking forward to comparing my tummy now with how it was when I was pregnant with Emily. I feel much bigger.
Movement: Not yet!
Sleep: Pretty good. I am still able to sleep kind of on my tummy which is nice.
What I miss: Wine still. I think its the fall weather that is making me crave a nice red.
Cravings: Water, water, water. I can't get enough. Ice cold water. I crave more salty than sweet too, but nothing in particular. I can tell you that I in no way crave meat. Beef and chicken. Bleh, I gag just thinking about it.
Symptoms: Headaches. Occasional nausea. Still really tired and lazy. --Same as last time
Best moment this week:This actually does not relate to me at all, but relates to pregnancy. I found out a great friend of mine and her wife are expecting their first baby and I am so so excited for them! They are due about 2 weeks after Zig and I. Kristin--A little shout out! You are going to be an AMAZING mommy! Your news made my week! And we also went to NJ for a good friends wedding. It was great to catch up with old friends, some of which we hadn't seen since college. We had a great time out there.

I have another appointment early next week and we get schedule our gender scan then too. I am really excited to find out what this baby is so I can start planning the nursery and Emily's transition to her big girl room. Everyone keeps asking if I feel different from my last pregnancy and honestly, I can't really remember. I didn't have headaches last time, I know that. I was sick with both, but a different kind of sickness. Zig thinks this time was worse, but it was just different. With Emmy, I just could not eat anything. Everything made me sick, which is why I lost so much weight. This time around, I could eat, but I threw up a lot more. So I don't know. I will be happy either way, that is for sure!!

14 Weeks

Things are looking up! As long as I don't talk about food too much or think about it a lot, I am pretty much able to stomach small amounts of anything. If I don't eat small snacks through out the day, though I feel awful and it's hard to eat anything after that till it passes. Protein is a struggle, so I try and drink milk. I can eat chicken tenders, but the thought of grilled chicken makes me gag. I am very sensitive to smells lately too.

I had my second appointment last Friday and everything is looking great. My doctor seems to be really into the portable ultrasound machine too, which I do not mind. She spent about 3 seconds listening for the heartbeat before she pulled out the u/s machine instead. I knew she would find it if she spent a little bit longer, but she said she likes seeing the baby too, so it was a win win for both of us. I have a tipped uterus so it can make finding the heartbeat on the doppler tougher in the beginning, but I have found it plenty of times at home, so I was not worried.

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 14 weeks
Size of baby: According to the Bump, the size of a lemon!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Based on the doctors scale, I think I am at my starting weight.
Maternity Clothes: Pants because they are much more comfortable. It's pretty much impossible to suck my stomach in anymore. Crazy how much faster I am showing with this baby. I had heard that with the 2nd that happens, but I was still pretty amazed. I look much more pregnant at night though. Any my doctor said I was tiny, which made me want to hug her because I don't feel tiny. Hey side note, Beyonce-Pregnant. According the the most reliable source, the tabloids, she is due in April. Um she is way bigger than me, so that made me feel awesome as well.
Gender: My doctor said we can schedule it at my next appointment, but she typically likes to do them between 18-20 weeks, so really only a month to go!
Movement: Nope
Sleep: Better than it has been. I am starting to get more comfortable sleeping on my side, but since this is a new position for me, my hips tend to hurt since I am not used to it. Meh. I get up at least once a night to go to the bathroom because I am really into ice water right now and can't seem to get enough, so I don't plan on really sleeping for a while.
What I miss: Wine. A lot. While my doctor said she could not tell me that having alcohol during pregnancy was OK, and obviously I don't want to down whole bottles all alcoholic style, she did say that if I wanted a small sip now and then, it would hurt nothing. I took a small sip the other day and held in in my mouth. It was delicious. Judge away.
Cravings: Pad Thai. I must have it. So I am going to for lunch. :) Also, ice water, which is good because I didn't drink a whole lot in the first tri at all. And with Emily, I was never really able to stay that hydrated. For the most part I like salty over sweet (unless it is ice cream. Obviously, I am still human), and sweet stuff leaves a gross after taste in my mouth.
Symptoms: Headaches. Occasional nausea. Still really tired and lazy.
Best moment this week:Seeing the baby again.

This pregnancy seems to be flying by pretty quickly, which is good in ways and bad in others. I want to really enjoy it and soak in how good I feel (when it eventually happens), but I want to feel semi normal again too. I don't mind being pregnant. I just don't want to feel so lazy all the time. I want to be able to pull my weight again. But I am happy, and we are all healthy, so I could not ask for more!

My kid is a riot!

And she is also 21 months old! What the!!! Mind boggeling it what it is.

This is what she is into these days.

-Sitting on the potty, just sitting. We aren't pushing it. She will let us know when she is ready. She knows when she has gone, and will tell us, but it is still after the fact. I think in the next few months she will be ready.
-Loves bath time. She could spend HOURS in there
-Loves to sing. She can sing her alphabet unprompted through G, and then if you sing it with her, she will continue where you left off through Z.
-She can say her name, though not well, but I still give her credit because Ziegler is not easy to say.
-She loves school. Gone are the days when she would cry everytime we dropped her off. Now they are very few and far between.
-She is very into dressing Lamby and "Howie" (her name, not ours. No clue where it came from) This includes putting them to sleep and changing their diapers. I tell you that Howie is one regular little dude. She is always telling me "Howie pooped."
-She is getting amazing at putting words into sentences and is excellent about using her words to tell us what she wants.
-Every morning I give her the option of taking whats left of her milk with us, or leaving it. Usually she will tell me, "Leave it, put it in the fridge". Impressive.
-She tells me bye and I love you every time I drop her off and tells Mrs. Stephanie see you soon when she leaves.
-She is still in size 4 diapers, size 5 shoes, 12 month shorts and 18 month tops.
-She is very opinionated about what she wears. She usually picks out her outfit and shoes every morning. If she doesn't like what I have picked out she tells me "No thank you!"
-She eats amazing at school. Not great at dinner though. I think her favorite foods are Mac n cheese and berries (blueberries or dried cranberries).
-She loves to give big squeezes!! She seriously gives the best hugs.
-She loves her family and talks about all of them all the time.
-She has the sweetest squeaky voice and smile. She definitely has my smile. Zig's nose (thankfully), but my smile.
-For the most part, she is an amazing sleeper. There are nights when she will wake up and cry, but it's not often and she will usually put herself back down.
-One area that I am working on is how much water she has before bed, and sometimes during the night. I am glad it is water and not milk at night, but I want to avoid giving her a sippy cup to keep in her crib. Especially when we start potty training.

I love my sweet little girl. She is silly and funny and happy. She has been so much fun to watch. I love her so much!! I will try and post some videos of her in the next week or so singing and talking. She gets camera shy, so I may have to sneak some. :)
