2 months

Isn't it crazy that 2 months have already gone by! Time is flying, but I so thankful that I still have 3 weeks off of work!

Emily is doing great! She went in for her 2 month check up and shots. :( She did really well. She now weighs 10 lbs 6 oz and is 22 inches long. The doctor is really happy with her growth so far. She cried just a little bit during her shots (I am pretty sure it was worse for me than it was for her.) She got a little warm that evening, but we gave her some tylenol and she was fine.
In other news, Emily has slept completly through the night for 2 nights in a row. She ate her last meal both nights between 9 and 9:30 and then gets put down right away. She slept till about 7 yesterday and 7:30 today. I would still like her to have an earlier bed time so we are going to work on pushing it up, even if it means she will wake a little earlier. It may be better that she get up earlier for now since she is going to start daycare soon. We could not be any happier, but realize that this may not be a trend quite yet.

Other than that, things are really good. We are all enjoying out time together, including Bodhi and Abby. Bodhi has always been a fan of the baby, but now Abby even gets into it and likes to give her a few kisses now and then. Here are some pictures of the little girl. I can't believe how much she has grown!

Here is her 2 month picture....

And this one I just can't resist because it is hysterical! A couple of times the flash just totally freaked her out and this was the reaction I got! I love it!

I'm thinking of joining the fire department...

Because I have mastered the fireman's carry. Please see exhibit A

Exhibit A

This is how Emily likes to be held. I think the pressure on her tummy makes her feel better after she eats a big meal. She could literally stay like this all day. Most of the time I sling her over my shoulder for about 10-15 mins and then set her next to me on her bobby and she is out for a few hours.

She is turning into such a ham. She is full of smiles and is cooing and talking like crazy. I have a feeling she is going to be like her dad and I can't wait till she is able to talk so we can see what is going on in that brain of hers. She sleeps good still and is starting to nap on her boppy instead of in my lap. We have lots of lazy days snuggling in bed. I love it.

I will try and get a good video of her talking and post it up here. My days seem to fly by. It seems like as soon as we are up and ready for the day, Daddy is home and we are winding down and putting her to bed. I love spending the day with this little one, but love the free time I get when Zig gets home. We have been taking daily outings, mainly because I am going a little stir crazy at home. Just little trips to the doctor, Target or to show her off at work. Today I am hoping to go get her first savings account set up, but the weather is really yucky out. It's the kind of day that you just snuggle up on the couch with a cup of hot tea and a good book (and of course my little girl). Anyway, I promise to get more pictures put up. Part of the reason I don't get anything done during the day is because I spend a majority of it holding Emily. Not because she wants to be held, but because I want to snuggle with her as much as I can. I think she likes it too. :)

Time is flying by!

I know I haven't posted in a while, mainly because really not a lot has changed. Emily sleeps relatively good at night. Every night is a little different, but every day, she somehow puts herself back on a schedule. It is nice knowing what your day is going to look like. I will say that she is not a perfect angel at all times. Last night, she had a rough one. I think she is going through a growth spurt though. (Apparently these happen around 6 weeks). She woke up around 3:15 to eat and just did not want to be put back down to sleep. I would get her half way there and then she'd wake up. This happened till about 5:30 when she was insatiably (is that a word?) hungry again. I fed her and she again woke up at 7 STARVING! This is pretty unusual because she usually goes about 2 1/2-3 hours between feedings. At this point I brought her to bed with me in hopes for a few more hours to sleep and at 8:45 I woke up to this...
I mean, honestly, how do you get upset about your lack of sleep for the night with this next to you. We really don't have any reason to complain. We have maybe had 5 bad nights in the last 6 1/2 weeks that Emily has been home. It could be a lot worse.

Other than last night, she is doing great. Like I said, she puts herself back on a schedule everyday. She always eats around 7, 9:30, 12, 5, 7:30 and 10:30 during the day. We have been trying to put her to "bed" after her 7:30 feeding so Zig and I have time to catch up and not worry about who is going to hold/play with/soothe the baby. She will wake during the night somewhere between 3 and 4:30, but no matter what time she wakes at night. She is ready to go again at 7. I have been lucky the last week and a half or so, she will eat at 7 am and then go right back to sleep until 9:30. Obviously, we are flexible with the "schedule." If she wakes up hungry earlier or is dead asleep during one of her usual feeding times, we just work around it. I like to think of it more as a routine. Anyway, things are going great. Emily is definitely growing. She moved out of her newborn diapers and her newborn clothes are starting to get a little snug ::wipes a tear:: and she is smiling a ton. I got some really cute ones on my camera that I will try and upload at the next nap, but I will leave you with this one from the other day.

My dog is on crack...

Seriously. Bodhi needs rehab. His new years resolution...Give up "chicky bones." What are these chicky bones you ask? Well thanks to Costco and our friend Brent, Bodhi has become addicted to Nubz. We made the mistake of giving Bodhi 1/2 a bone in the morning and 1/2 at night. Since his crack habit got quite expensive, we sarted giving him 1/4 of a bone in the morning and 1/4 at night. If you don't give him his fix, he will sit and stare at you while whining till you get up and give it to him. It is so sad. Even worse, any movement like you are going to get up from where you are sitting (in my case bed right now), he will get frantically excited and book it to the kitchen. He literally stares at the cabinet ALL.DAY.LONG anticipating his next treat. I am not sure what he likes so much about them. Abby eats them too, but doesn't have the same reaction. Bodhi is like a heroine addict, shaking and begging for his drug. Poor guy. This is what is staring at me right now.

I wish this picture could capture his little cry and the frantic shaking of his tail! I love this dog, even though he is crazy.

PSA-Do not buy these for your dog unless you want a crack head like mine. :) I kid, this is the one thing Bodhi is passionate about, aside from squeeky toys, so we give in to the addiction.
