Hello teeth and the Dixon Apple Farm

2 posts in one day! OMG! Haha. I just wanted to share some pictures of Emily's grill because it cracks me up everytime I get a cheesy grin from her. These teeth are AWESOME!

Saturday was a very eventful day for the Ziegler family. My friend Jess's son Brayden and Emily are great friends. They go to daycare together and the teacher says B is always saying "Emmy next door?" in a very serious voice. He loves Emmy. Anyway, B has been going to the Little Gym for a while and asked if Em could join him on Saturday for friends and family day. How could we pass it up! Em had a great time, although B is about 10 months older, she still had fun doing wheel barrows and forward rolls. And she absolutely loved the bubbles! After Little Gym we took a drive with the Bundy's to Pena Blanca to the infamous Dixon Apple Farm. Jess and I were excited for some cider, but when we got there they were all out. So Jess and I waited in line with the kids and got 2 bags of delicious champagne apples to split between us, and Jessica's step mom and the guys waited in line for some apple fritters. The apple fritters were for the birds, but the apples themselves are awesome. They let you have an apple to sample, which went right to Em and B. They loved them! It was a really great and relaxing weekend. Here are some pictures of the kids!

I give you Em's playroom!

It was so much fun creating this space for Emily. The theme emerged from one simple quote I found by Dr. Seuss and the rest just fell into place. Emily loves to pull all the books off the low shelves that are just for her, she loves to look through all the bins, and really loves to play with the foam letters/number tiles on the floor. She is perfectly content playing in this room and we hope she enjoys it for many years to come.

I printed these images on my home computer and decoupaged them onto small canvases. Thansk to Cissy for the idea. I was oringinally going to frame each one of them, but they turned out so much better this way. I just painted the edges and essentially glues to pictures on. I love how they turned out.

Fun little pom pom things I got on Etsy.

I love this idea. I found it while googling some ideas for playroom bookshelves. These and the ones that are mounted at Emmy height are made from rain gutters. I bought one 10 foot piect of vinyl rain gutters and 8 end caps. I suckered the guy at lowes into cutting them to length so all we had to do is secure the end caps and mount them to the wall. They flex so I am not too worried about Em pull them down. Even if she does, the gutter was only $6.

My friend Christine came over to help me sew the window seat. I can't take any credit! She did most of it, but I did sew a couple sides somewhat straight...somewhat.

This TV has an integrated dvd system and will be mounted out of reach on the wall. We try to limit the amount of TV she watches, but still know it is inevitable that she will be exposed to it one day. For now, we try and keep it educational. I think she likes it!The next pictureis just a wide view of the whole room. I am so happy with the way it turned out! There is one other one, but blogger was being a punk.

As for future plans for the room, it is pretty much done. I plan to get her a little chair from Land of Nod for her birthday and put it in the corner by the low shelves.

Wordless Wednesday...kinda

Yesterday Miss Holly was eating an apple and Em decided she wanted it. Apparently she loved it! Holly said she was taking big old bites out of it so she peeled it for her and Emmy went to town! I love this child. :)

Sneak peek #2

Sorry for the awful quality I am still waiting on a few more touches. Any day now and its done. These are rain gutter book shelves. We made these two display shelves for the dr suess book collection I bought on ebay, and then we made two smaller ones to hold her board books. She loves them! However, she may end up yanking them out of the wall because she uses them to pull up. Soon enough she will be able to stand from sitting and it won't be an issue. They came out great! So excited!

Clapity clap clap

Em has decided to start clapping. And now she does it all.the.time. She stands up, she claps. She sits down, she claps. She picks up a toy, she claps. It goes on and on. I also learned that she has also been signing more during meal times, which looks just like clapping, just with closed fists. Here I thought she was just excited to eat, but really she just wants more. And honestly she just wants more puffs, becuase she lurves her some puffs. Anyway here is a video. Enjoy!

PS. My voice is never going to get less annoying so just deal with it! ;) And I spend about 10 seconds actually capturing what I want Em to do and the rest of it looking like a dork trying to get her to do it.

Meet Lamby

Emily is OBSESSED with Lamby. He has been in the rotation of toys at daycare since Emily started, but one day she found him and just claimed him as her own. She LOVES him. Everyday when Zig drops her off she goes to the cabinet where Lamby is kept and he apparently hangs with her all day. The other day Em and I went for a visit on her day off and the second I put her down, she began her search for Lamby. Noah, a little boy in the room, was taking it from her and laughing and she would cry till we gave him back. I got this picture below from daycare today. Lamby and Em took a nap together. He is adorable and she can't get enough of him. If we can't find Em a Lamby of her own before she moves to the next room we may have to plan a Lamby heist!
